Oh one more thing.

Seriously Jeff Kee. Get a life. Don't even assume that we're all idiots here, and we're gonna believe everything that is on tv and the internet. Like I'm gonna change my religion because I watch some movie. It takes more than that.

I'm going to say, that so far, I was a bit skeptical about the whole thing... being close to a few filmmakers in my town as well, I'm brought up with my own expectations on acting.. graphics.. cinematography.. etc. So, while watching your show, all I could think was "aghhh...." too many things I wanted to change. Mainly the a majority of the acting seemed terrible, or how the story was developing, and mostly in the first episodes, the high contrast, and very very dark imagery (i couldn't see a thing). Some of the audio was a bit shoddy or rather, the level of audio seemed to be louder in some areas than in other, probably having to do with mic placement, or ... whatever... I disliked quite a bit of the camera angles....

But before I continue to sound like I'm bashing, let me say, I also know that this is mostly a show about teenagers, (and I will assume) made by teenagers. And of course I shouldn't expect you to be professionals.

And what changed my mind is this episode, at the very end, with Ellie screaming at the oncoming infected, James hearing the scream and running to her rescue, and flashing back to the moment of her falling at James' steps. The scene does very well with the beautiful build up of music, and still being able to hear the gunshots that are still ringing in Ellie's ears, outside of the flashback... so when the world comes back to light, James rolling on the floor with the infected, you feel like you've just waken up from a pleasant coma back to stark reality... And I meant that in the best sense possible, for that entire sequence changed the way I viewed the film.

and of course, at first, I was very, very disinterested by the characters... and I felt a bit confused at first, as to whether I was supposed to be looking at them as teenagers, or looking at them as teenagers who were acting like adults. Possibly because of the reality of the situation, I was very confused about it... and I couldn't relate to the characters as people who were my age. The costuming might have helped.... for instance, James' really cool trench coat. I mean,... I don't know how many average teenagers wear trench coats (unless somewhere it's explained that it used to belong to his dad, or something and then as a step toward being a man he puts on the coat.. blah blah blah)... I will admit, I do actually have a friend who wears them all the time, but he's one out of a million.

It's not really something you can change at this point, but something to think about as you go further on. That costuming, and dialogue have a lot to do with how we perceive them.. when I realized that they WERE teenagers, I had the hardest time keeping hold of it. Not that I'm expecting them to be completely frivolous in their situation, but more that I think I want to see them acting their age in that sort of environment... which I would think includes most of their abilities or inabilities to be or not be emotional -- as a teenager, you're full of emotions and hormones, it doesn't matter if you're in a battlefield of zombies. As youth, without parents to hold on to them, they must hold on to each other.

It seems too unrealistic to me that any teenager would want to keep their head in the bottle of stress and angst for so long. At least, when it comes to most of them (they're all very in their own heads, understandable, especially if the point is to see them reliving or remembering their past). I did notice that they're all distant from each other, which boggles me slightly since six months is a long time to live with each other in a home, and not get to know each other, (unless they were all brought up to be introverts).

While they're very distant now from each other now, heading towards their own sanctified corners of the house, I'm hoping that it's only because it's the beginning

I hope that later on we get to see them develop something to take from... these are a bunch of kids in a house, surrounded with everything to fear, and have nothing to hold on to but each other. (which I will say, I did see a hint of that relationship factor at the end of the movie, when they were looking at each other, after working together to defend their home).

And I'm not going to say that I didn't think you had already thought of it, maybe you did, and maybe it's already coming into play. The acting actually has gotten a lot better so far, and I think this episode is definitely serving a taste of what you really should be striving for.

So yeah, good luck, and the music is fantastic, congrats.

Thank you! We're very pleased with the show, although, we are also aware of these little technical discrepancies. As we continue on, we're trying to improve the technical aspect, but as the entire season has already been filmed, most of these comments are being taken to heart for the next season (and we are taking them to heart, and very thankful for critiques).

As for the music, we're very proud to say that every piece of music we use in the show (excluding the earlier character promos and behind the scenes) is 100% original, composed by either the actors, or friends of our, and all recorded here. We're so excited about it all, and can't wait to show everyone a couple musical scores we have up our sleeves.

I think the comments were more juicy then the episode LOL.

All I want to say and I realy am too late to join this "discussion" is that we need to be a little more respectful when we talk to one another. After all one thing I think we can agree on is...

Proverbs 15:1 "A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare."

Also we are ALL Christians so please remember that although we don't agree on everything, and sometimes a lot of things, we're still the body of Christ and argueing about these things and screaming at each other isn't going to make everything work out. Doesn't mean we shoudn't discuss them at all though.

There's nothing wrong with discussing things it's when we start turning it into something it doesn't have to be that it gets nasty. And for those of you who can't be proven wrong, don't bother saying anything because why would anyone want to believe you anyway.

****These comments are completely general and not pushed towards anyone personally. ****

Sorry I know I'm not the most qualified person to say anything.
All I want to say and I realy am too late to join this “discussion” is that we need to be a little more respectful when we talk to one another. After all one thing I think we can agree on is…

Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.”

But I stick with the Absolution team in what they're doing, and from most of what I saw I think the same thing.

Well that was certainly a meaty episode. It seemed more like a climactic episode rather than just the third in the series. I agree with most of Chelsea's comments, except that the skipping she refers to was actually repeated pausing because the episode wasn't downloading fast enough.

Though I liked the lighting, sound and camera angles, there were occasional problems with all three. For some reason, when Green is speaking off camera to Shephard in the first scene, his voice is distorted. I liked the video cam scenes, very clever and different. But the poor quality mike on that camera kept picking up background sounds (people talking and laughing). I heard people in the background in the last scene of the episode too, which definitely ruined the effect. There must be quiet on the set! (and in the house) when you are filming. ;-)

When the character holding the video cam placed it on the table, we were stuck looking at the back of Cassie's head for too long. I suppose that's realistic, but I would have preferred to see at least some glimpses of the character she was talking to. The lighting on the faces in several scenes was too dark. I didn't recognize Peter either until halfway through his scene.

I liked when Ellie said she didn't want to kill AGAIN. That took me by surprise. I thought that was very effective. But why was Gresham(?) suddenly the one in charge, giving instructions to the others before the battle? I thought Green was the leader of this group.

I'm curious as to how much of the music is original. I particularly like the piano music.

Overall a very well done episode. Very impressive.

Dear Absolution,

I will try to be as short as possible. I see that what I say is not getting anywhere; you are already poised against any and everything that I could possibly say. The last few days I have received maybe a dozen messages. I will say only this to those questions. I have already answered them, my stance is the same; you just have to look back on those comments for my answers. But this is not what this comment is about.
Let me try and recap what has happened over my involvement in these comments. I was told about Absolution from Lauren Bahr. I am not sure why, I am still trying to figure that out. We have never had any real conversations about anything, sometimes it was just a casual “hi” at church. So when she told me about Absolution, I was confused. I believe that God wanted me here to say what I have said. I was given insight into the future of the story by each person, stating their understanding of the plot of the story. I heard opposite views of how the story was playing out and what these shows are teaching (all this was told to me by the different people that have written to me). I should not have been given this responsibility, all this information was given to a young man that has seen a problem. He wondered why the task had been given to him, because he should have been the last candidate that Lauren would have gone to. Christian storytelling is my life’s study; I am not an expert for sure, but I did have enough to be able to write the problems down. But no one has heeded the comments, nor has anyone agreed. I have blazed the trail, but here is where I will be laying down the baton, if anyone feels that what I have said in any way is correct and you want to pick up where I left off, all I can give you are these comments and my blessing, for you will have a hard road ahead of you, you will be condemned, rejected, and (possibly) hated; it will be a lonely road for sure, but remember that God will not leave you, though mankind will. But before I leave, I have two people to address.

To the Theological Science,
I am glad that you see me as a right winged conservative Christian. You have stated your anger, so I will not deprive you of that. All I will say is that you assume a lot, I was told by others that I was assuming a lot of them, but at least I had asked them what they believed so I could have a better understanding before I restated their beliefs. Yes I believe I am pleasing God, and I am practicing what I preach; though you assume that I do not. I leave you with this, if you do indeed believe that the Bible is infallible, then why would you attack a person that is basing his believes off of it?

To Phillip,
I just found out that you have been writing me, I am sorry that I have been unable to respond yet. I sense a great amount of anger in you; you lash out for what reason? I have not called people cruel names, nor have I wanted to. So what is the cause of your aggression? Is it because you think that it is wrong to question what people do so that one may know what to make of them? These are not questions for you to tell me, but for you to tell yourself. I am sorry that you have been frustrated with me, so I will now take my leave; all my answers to your questions are in the other comments if you want to know the answers.

Farewell Absolution, I will still pray for you. I, Jeffrey Kee, take my leave. I will not come onto your site again, unless asked by someone in Absolution. If you have any more comments or questions (if any), I ask you to give them to Lauren Bahr to pass on to me.

In Christ Jesus,
Jeffrey Kee

Good episode. Great camera angles, nice music, good acting, interesting ending. P.J. it took me halfway through your dialogue to realize that was you acting. I couldn't tell it was you until you said something a certain way, then I recognized your voice and realized it was you. Good job. Good job to Cody as well. The episode kepting skipping towards the end, is there anyway to fix that? And I was surprised at how Cody's infected character was being so calm and full of thought, perhaps you could have made him a little more manic and then just made that section in like slow motion for dramatic effect, other than that good job.

1. Andrew is right, just because a character acts a certain way, doesn't mean that the writer, or the producer, or even the actor, believe that is something that is right. But, we try not to make our actors do things that would make them sin, like, Absolution will NEVER have a sex scene OR nudity. Those are things that the actor would be doing that are sins. Pretending to shoot someone is not a sin.

The Bible tells of great sins in it. It tells of every imaginable sin. Does this mean the Bible "dwells" on sin?

2. Also, Andrew is not affiliated with the show. So, he may believe that James was wrong to shoot the infected man at the end of episode 1. This does not change the fact that by showing this we believe it. Although, you are right, we have said that we believe in that situation it was right of him to save the lives of the people under his charge, and shoot the infected who was about to kill them.

Dear Andrew,

Answer: Yes, because as I have said before, Micah said in his comment (comment #29, paragraph #15, sentence #1) that it is the right thing to do (also look at the comment from Coldshoulder right below this one in the first few sentences). It seems to me that you have not talked to him about this. If you will not do this, then look at episode #3 again, Ellie does not believe that it is wrong, because she decides to do it to.

As for what you said about the project being for those involved instead of as a dramatic outreach to people’s lives, I suggest that you review the comments by others. They are all saying that it is an outreach, even if it was not, it is no way for a Christian to have “fun”, we are never supposed to dwell on sin for our “fun” (Philippians 4:8-9). All we do should reflect our honor to follow what God wants us to do. If we make shows that are teach or lift up evil, then we are not really living a Christian life, but a pagan life.

In Christ,
Jeffrey Kee
